GBA Badminton

Huge thanks to Gay & LesBian Social The Netherlands for allowing us to promote our group here!

Gay Badminton Amsterdam (GBA) is a fun and friendly badminton club for the gay community, those who identify as LGBT+ or are friends of or support those that are gay in Amsterdam. We accept all levels of players and we welcome you to come and join us!

We play weekly on Sunday afternoons (filling 6 courts) and Wednesday evenings (filling 2 + 6 courts*). As well as having lots of fun with badminton, we provide a safe space and host other social events such as dinners and drinks or park outings. Note that regular members won’t necessarily be ticking attendance on here so don’t worry if you’re the only person ticked to attend!

After a huge success of The Importance of Being Earnest, join us for another comedy/drama from The Queen’s English Theatre Company. The Scary Bikers is about life, love and staying on your bike by John Godber, one of the UK’s most performed playwrights.

About the play: When retired miner Don (Mark Winstanley) and former teacher Carol (Loveday Smith) meet it looks like a new beginning. But a bike ride through Europe tests their budding romance. Erwin Olaf @Gemeentemuseum Den Haag

View LGBTQ meetups Save the date: Sunday, 07 Apr 2019 2:00

Gemeentemuseum Den Haag and The Hague Museum of Photography are to honour one of the Netherlands’ most famous photographers, Erwin Olaf (b. 1959), with a double exhibition.

Olaf, whose recent portraits of the royal family drew widespread admiration, will turn sixty this year – a good moment to stage a major retrospective. The Hague Museum of Photography will focus on Olaf’s love of his craft and his transition from analogue photojournalist to digital image-maker and storyteller.

Olaf will himself bring together some twenty photographs by famous photographers of the past who have been a vital source of inspiration to him. Gemeentemuseum Den Haag will show non-commissioned work by Olaf from 2000 to his most recent series, including the work he produced in Shanghai and his most recent series Palm Springs, on display for the first time. Olaf will be showing his photography in the form of installations, in combination with film, sound and sculpture.
